I was thinking that joes are purpose built (the flash clamps in particular) for the job but have you found some similar

I am experimenting with 2 cheap 4 jaw retort clamps, a friend uses them to hold his flashes on boom stands and the like, when I get them later in the week I will let you know how they work out

            Re: Splash in a Bubble

Stan, my retort clamps arrived in the post this morning, both parts the clip and clamp cost me a total of £10 each (not the cheapest and certainly not the most expensive) As you can see they hold both the Yongnuo and Canon flashes and will do what i want them to do i.e. allow me to position flashes above the water drop kit as well as up the sides.

look the same as I have and looks like they are up to the job

I will probably stick with Joe as i need 2 stands as well and the overall cost will be around the same as ebay
