Pool (GB9 Ball Tour)

These are a selection of my favourite photos from one of my recent events a few weeks ago (I run the GB 9 Ball Tour - the UK's professional 9 ball pool tour).

This was my first ever outing with a DSLR. My only previous photographic experience was with a point and shoot or my smart phone so I know I have a lot of learning ahead of me.

All were taken with a 60D and the EF 70-200mm F2.8L IS II USM. I think 3 is my favourite.

I love the 3rd one, but the whole series is quite nice.
you did a good job for the lighting

Thanks. The lighting is the hard bit because all the room lights are turned off leaving only the tubes over the tables. So getting a fast enough shutter for moving balls is not easy. This is why I splashed out on that lens. I used ISO 1000, a monopod, and f2.8. The focal length on this lens really helps you get nice shots without distracting the players.
