    Lifeboats

Took these the other day on a trip to the river mouth just after a period of gales, the tide was in and there was still a strong wind and a high sea running. I was on the pier when the two lifeboats came in, the inflatable is based here, the larger boat is based at Selsey further along the coast. Very pleased with how the inflatable one came out, I’ve done an A3 print and that looks good; I may well take it down to the lifeboat station as it shows the crew very well.

Two great shots, you have caught the spray well in the first.

Good shots, but why does the normal RNLI dayglo orange appear brown? When I've taken shots of lifeboats in the past,I've always made a big thing of that standout colour.

Or don't they use it anymore?

Two great action shots, maybe consider a bit more room in front of the boats.

Two great shots. I'm sure the Selsey would be pleased to have a couple of prints. I have strong family connections with the RNLI

Thanks for the comments everyone. Appreciated.

Roy, I think that it is just the strong shadow that is making the orange look dark; I believe that any colour cast would have been shown up in their white helmets being off colour, which they aren’t.

Trev, I was going to give the local station a print of the inflatable so I may well do the same for Selsey.
