    Horse Jumping

Mrs C Suggested I take photo's of elder Granddaughter, during a cross country event. For cross country I would need my 200-400mm and the built in 1.4x extender would help for the longer distances. Only ............... it wasn't cross country, it was dressage and jumping. I was massively over lensed and could have done everything with a 70-200mm, but that was home, 30 miles away. However, with the lens zoomed back to 200mm and still needing to walk backwards a few times, it got the job done.

Excellent shot Colin, a very confident looking granddaughter -- you don't fancy having a go yourself.

A while to go yet. Although she looks very grown up in her show jumping gear, she is only fourteen. Her horse is pretty big though. At 16.5 hands, the top of my head just reaches her shoulder.

For me to have a go? A bit too posh for me. I used to ride, but mainly a hack across the moors.

Excellent shot Colin, well timed. Good to see the meetings have restarted so that she can get out to ride again, I’ll bet she’s pleased about that.

Great shot Colin, future star in the making. You should bring her up to Blair Castle for the international horse show at the end of the month.
