    Bootiful.

    Fill your boots. by Ian Wheatley, on Flickr

    You will find these Boots scattered all over the town in recognition of Northamptons claim to fame as the centre of the Boot and Shoe industry. Sadly those days are long gone and the Boots are starting to show their age.

      B&W suits the image very well. Assume you have to be well heeled to live in Northampton!

        Lovely shot Ian, agree looks good in B&W. So what are we saying, they've been booted out of Northampton - just looked at mine, see they were made in Taiwan

            Great shot Ian,looks good in B&W.
            Leicester/shire was also a renowned centre of the Boot and Shoe industry,several of my relatives worked in it,there was even a Working Men's Club named the'Boot & Shoe'.
            We also had a huge factory in Leicester named British United Shoe Machinery Company(known locally as"The B.U.")which was world-renowned in it's day.
            All sadly gone now though.
