I had a run over to RAF Leeming today to see what the Swiss Air Force were up to. Leeming is hosting a joint exercise called Yorknite, which includes some night flying .
The visitors have apparently been breaking the sound barrier over the North Sea which; made some people along the North East Coast think that there had been an earthquake or two!
A problem became apparent when I arrived, I should have taken a pair of steps to allow me to shoot over the perimeter fence in the official viewing area. I had to retreat from the fence and shoot over it rather than through it. In addition I had reset my camera and didn't notice that I was shooting jpg's only
#1 The first of the visitors getting airborne.
#2 Quite a smart looking aircraft.
#3 Locals joining in the fun
#4 I had hoped to get some decent images of these, sadly mainly due to the problem I mentioned earlier I didn't do so.
