    ‘Torquay Weekend’ tour

    Not a Steam train photo!

Late last night I found out that there was a diesel rail tour leaving Torquay this morning, 19th July 2021. So a quick dash to Dawlish I got the photo below.

47746 top and tail 47237 is seen passing through Dawlish working the 1Z19 10:09 Torquay to Saltburn ‘Torquay Weekend’ tour on the 19th July 2021.

Thanks Trev, I have no idea about the wreath on the front of the train.

Nice shot Colin. That is one long journey from the South West to my part of the world in the North East.

Was just wondering, we lost a young recruit, took his own life on the railway line a month ago

Nice shot Colin with the usual perfect composition.

I have no problem with it not being steam as I still get exceited when I hear some diesel motive power under load. I was down the garden when this set came along heading for Paignton and I heard it making quite a racket as it climbed from Torquay. I just had time to get my smartphone out and grab a few seconds of video. Then it was double headed but top 'n' tailed on the return a few days later (had it been in Goodrington yard all that time?).

              Cheers,
              John
