Not the recently overhauled Gresley A3 steam loco but East Coast Rail's Flying Scotsman livery on a Mark 4 set...
Big improvement on the boring livery used by GNER before they gave up the franchise, and a nice attempt at a Scottish thistle on the nose (in this case of the Driving Van Trailer on the London end of the rake - the Class 91 - 91101 - driving at the back was similarly treated).
Taken on Platform 1 at Doncaster - not the best location for train shots. Has anyone got a better, or can get a better, shot of this Flying Scotsman?
Thought I was getting a lot of noise when I went in close on the front of the DVT but it was all the insects caught on the paintwork....
Cheers, Chris.
