    Steam in the Yorkshire Dales

I feel I'm really getting back into the togging groove since my fall some 8 months ago, yesterday spent an enjoyable day around the Dales , shooting steam trains and eating bacon sarnies with lashings of tea, can it get much better than that?

The first two shots are of a Steam train going over Ribblehead Viaduct, it's an image I've wanted ever since I first came across Ribblehead viaduct more years ago than I care to remember.

The first of the two images (both taken with a 1DS MKIII+24-70mm F2.8L lens, ND Grad), I've kept deliberately darker to hopefully capture the mood? Even though it was cloudy, and (relatively) quite dark, it was warm (20C) and close.

What no fruit cake with Wensleydale cheese

#1 I like (and #4 with the AH and its juxtaposition with the train ... mind you all that folliage wouldn't have been allowed there in days of old).

A great set Les thanks for sharing them, I like them all but the final one made me smile that couple look as if they are really enjoying themselves and didn't mind you making the image. Well done I'm glad to hear that you are getting about more take care.

Nice set of images. Glad to see that you are up and about from your fall. If I had to pick, #2 & #4 would be the one.

                  Another great set Les.
That viaduct is certainly vast and the train crossing certainly puts it all in to perspective.
I really like the last image, nice.

Lovely shots. If I had to choose, I'd go for 2 and 3.

Steam trains and B&W images really do go together, capturing the era just as it was.

                        Nice work
