HMS Illustrious (R06) at Liverpool

Visited Liverpool today as HMS Illustrious (pennant number R06) is in the City (70th Anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic in which Liverpool placed the pivotal role). Large queues had formed before she was was opened to the public. Once on the carrier there were plenty of armed marines (very smartly dressed) as well as RN people (who looked very young). Sad really that we are loosing our carrier capability for what 10 years. Any some snaps from today.
