    Beached

I noticed this rather large boat at the beach edge today at Hengistbury Head and although people do keep their dingys and smaller craft there over winter, this one was so big, i wondered if it was the result of the recent storms - its not the sort of boat you could just float back on the water without some sort of crane

I like it Stan, it's a very nice scene. I do find that my eyes are jumping back and forth between the boat and the sky though, I guess it's the mast leading the eyes upwards.

          Re: Beached

I think it's just parked on a "drying mooring" and floats or settles on the beach according to the tide. Note the fin like keels to keep her level when settled and the "scope" of the anchor rope which will allow her to float but stop her from floating away. Nice shot though, makes me want to get out on the water, but I'll have to wait until May.

that was something else i had wondered about as the parking looked too "neat" for a wash up
