    Icebreaker Kontio

I went to the beach to see the sunset, but I found a surprise there - an icebreaker named 'Kontio'. Never seen an icebreaker there, so did some trials with the camera.

interesting shot but it seems a tad flat, I would try giving the contrast a boost or made even converting it to B&W and pushing contacts / clarity even further to make the boat / land stand out better

Exactly what I was thinking too. It's got potential that's for sure

          Thanks all,

I guess I understand what your are saying. With DPP, I have made monochrome conversion and also added brightness and contrast to it. But please note that winter time sea can have some 'mist-kind-of-appearance', so there is certain unclarity in reality (in the absence of having any better excuse) ;) .

So, here is the second attempt:

Looks like some alien craft rising out of the mist - I definitely prefer the second version

                  Thanks!
This is still a bit difficult. Firstly I prefer reality - that is with natural colours as seen and experienced. But then there is also the artistic side in photography. Have to balance in between!

Prefer the first one for exactly that reason. I see in colour not black and white. LOL.

For me the second version works better.
