    Never had a 10D, I went straight to the 20D from my original D30.

            If memory serves there's a filter/effect in PS called something like Polar coordinates or similar that does this...

                Both were shot with the 400mm lens but the first one had a bit of photoshop manipulation done to it. It's called rounding the mark.
