Battery compartment cap for Canon 1Ds mark III

Any idea where I can obtain a battery compartment cap for Canon 1Ds mark III?

Is not the cap / cover all part of the battery holder. Whatever I would think you would have to go to Canon direct

I never knew there was such a thing. I have the 1D X Mk ll and there was not one supplied when new, in fact I've never given it a thought - just take out one battery unit and fit another while charging.

They suggested I contact Canon UK, which I did, they advised me to try H.Lehman [Parts & servicing] they replied very quickly, but were unable to assist.

It is not a vital piece of kit more curiosity on my part.

You could try Fixation at https://www.fixationuk.com/ Failing that, to prevent dust etc getting into the battery compartment you could use masking tape.

No luck there. However I had a dead battery from a 1Ds Mark II from which I removed the end cap, this fits but does not lock! but masking tape will hold it in place.
