IXUS 240HS Can it's WiFi connect to an FTP server?

I want to use the Canon IXUS 240HS' WiFi facility but want to explore options that do not involve running Canon-specific utilities on my software bloated PC.

Has anyone tried such operations or used the 240HS with a network FTP server?

Hello Tim and welcome to the EOS Forum.

I have only known this run with the Canon software. It does the job, so people are generally happy with that, rather than looking for alternatives. If your PC is bloated with software, is there anything there that you don't really need? I tend to accumulate a lot of software that seemed a good idea at the time, but never really used afterwards.

If you do find an alternative solution, we would love to hear it.

Its a well known fact that no matter what size of hard drive you have the Data and programs expand exponentially to fill it
