    Glencoe

I'm just back from a quick trip around Scotland on the bike.

Here's a few taken in Glencoe...

When I'm in Glencoe I stay at the Red Squirrel Camp Site which is fairly basic but the position is stunning; this shot was taken from outside my tent! Being so close to the water the wee biting beasties can be a problem but this year they were clearly still asleep as I didn't see any

These two were shot on the short walk up to the excellent Clachaig Inn:

          Thanks Tom and Ian

The weather was good at times but my waterproofs did get a proper washing at others

Due to the limited time available it was all a bit of a rush (1785 miles in six days comprising a 430 mile Paignton to Moffat leg and a 596 mile Glencoe to Paignton one).

This is what I did it on (a machine made for epic long distances - even if the rider isn't ) :

Very nice images. Seen the area in all types of weather, nothing quite this good, when on the way to Skye.

                  Thanks folks

We nearly didn't go to Glencoe this year as the friend from Dublin I tour with had such a bad experience the last time we were there. It was cold, wet and the midges had received an early alarm call as they were everywhere Still, circumstances dictated that we had to stop around there and the Clachaig is not to be missed so the Red Squirrel it was and what a difference

                  Cheers,
                  John
