    Cornish Church, Devonian Sky...

I stopped off at Zennor to photograph the famous church there but as both it and photographer were in murky low cloud I didn't expect to get anything from my visit especially with so many drops on the lens. The sky was a uniform grey too but a bit of (well, a lot of) work in LR to remove the raindrops and cloning in PS to remove modern clutter produced a reasonable image... that still had that uniform grey sky. However, a nice man on YouTube showed me how to deal with that in PS and a nice cloudy sky that had once been over Torbay was superimposed on Cornwall. Back to LR for polishing then off to Silver Efex for the mono conversion. Definitely easier with my Box Brownie

If you look closely the roughness of it are abundently clear... so don't look too closely!

nice conversion John and the new sky works well. Not too sure about the house though, although it looks like there was no angle to remove it unless you resort to photoshop

Like how you processed the image John, not too much a fan of that modern looking building on the left because the whiteness of that building distracts the eye from the main subject.

          Thanks folks

Nice edit Stan and, yes, it was a bit tight from that angle and the others I took from more favourable positions were too marred by the rain to be much use. The 'modern' house is probably a few hundred years old but the window considerably less. Still, it was an interesting exercise in sky swapping

You're too honest and once you tell us not to zoom, well, we'll zoom! You did well with the swap, a little more finesse and you've cracked it

              Thanks Alan

I don't suppose it was too bad for a first effort particularly as I had to clone out a 'No through road' sign, wheelie bin, traffic cone, miles of power lines, adjust verticals then clone fill to repair the damage this caused and stretch the canvas at the top then clone fill that before I even got to the new sky part

              Cheers,
              John
