Dragonfly. by Ian Wheatley, on Flickr

Here is one I am more satisfied with, far better than my first effort which i have replaced with this.. Suppose thats just me getting used to the camera. Anyone got an ID on the subject? It seemed to have spent the night under the leaves and as the morning wore on and warmed up it climbed on top, spread it wings till it had warmed up enough for it to be able to fly off. Your views as always, welcome. Regards Ian W..

Whilst researching the lifecycle of Dragonflys in general I think I may have stumbled upon the ID of mine.As far as I can tell its a Female Southern Hawker but if anyone has other ideas please enlighten us. Regards to all. Ian W.

I would say Common aeshna - Female. However stand to be corrected, nice shot but a little soft, the wing detail can tell us so much
