SD Card is Locked

Help,
Off on hols tonight. 7D etc packed. Just clearing cards and a SD card for my (pana - sorry) compact is OK for downloading old pics on laptop but message on camera says "This memory card is locked" Can't see a way around it.
Sorry its not Canon but I don't have time to find a Pana forum.

On the left side of the SD card is the little slider up towards the top or down towards the bottom. If it is at the bottom then the card is locked..... I know you have possibly checked this but just a thought.

I had not remembered the slider until it came tio me while walking the dog. Silly boy.

Ah dog walking... the time I do most of my "thinking"... great for the soul.....

It is so easy to forget the little things sometimes especially when you are getting ready for a holiday.... I remember going on a very long haul holiday and my pana p&s had "stopped working" so I abandoned it at home, bought a new one at duty free, got home some weeks later and what do you know.... the old pana was working as I had failed to check something simple....
