Just a quick post about a useful tool called Ninite.
This tool allows you to update/install addins (Java/Flash, Acrobat Reader, etc) and freeware, big list just go to site below to see. Couple that I would consider useful: Irfanview - image viewer that can show almost any format (even RAW) and VLC - can play almost any video/audio format.
All you do is tick the things you want. This generates a small executable that you can save and run anytime. This will install/update (if update available) all in one go. One of best things is that it bypasses all the toolbar etc. requests. The file can be run any time to check for updates.
