    Re: Is 22inch big enough

Paul, your card is a GTX470 IIRC. I ran 1 x 22" Samsung along with 1 x 24" Samsung with it just fine.

I'd like a couple of larger monitors myself (actually I'd love 3) .... but I don't think I'd get away with that. I'd say go for as big a monitor as funds will allow. I did read somewhere that TV's aren't that good for photo editing, but I don't recall the reasons why.

Just one point that you might like to consider - a matt surface monitor is more preferable to a glossy screen if you can find one.

A couple of kind forum members Jock and Les McLean have both kindly offered me a screen and I am meeting up with Les tomorrow morning to pick up a Dell 24" monitor thanks to everyone for your advice I have just ordered a mounting arm so that I can have my small screen next to it to display folders etc and use the 24" for just editing

Indeed Andy. I still have my friends calibration tool aswell so it will be getting calibrated as soon as it is connected to the computer. should make editing photos a lot better.

Without a doubt Paul, I reckon a decent monitor is almost as important as a decent lens.

Couldn't agree more Andy that and the one I use for editing at the moment has a couple of marks and scratches, which I sometimes forget about and spend ages trying to clone them out of images until I remember lol

you can stream anything thats on the Mac, music, films, photos - even set up slide shows if you use that feature in Iphoto - it effectively turns your TV screen into a massive monitor with no loss in quality... and its only about 3" square and plugs into your HDMI socket
