    Tablet

Does anybody out there use a tablet for carrying out adjustments with Photoshop for example?

    The Wacom bamboo maybe?

I'm thinking of getting one, but which one, and are they any good, better than a mouse?

Any feedback would be much appreciated people, cheers

    I can't live without them.

The Bamboo is the entry level to get you going and most people won't need anything more sensitive than that. Get one, practice a little and you'll wonder how you ever worked without one.

Mines by AGK. Bought it from one of the high street stores when they where having a sale. Better than using a mouse.

Don't go too large if you are photo editing. A4 in my experience is just too big stick with one with about an A6 drawing area. The bamboo is great for the price.

Do you need any special SW to get the best out of one of these tablets or is lightroom and PSE enough?

                  Very good point regarding size.

I have used everything from A3 to A6 and this is one area where small is better. A5 and A6 is best and I settled for the A6 size.

That is a good point ref size, the tempting thing is to go big! A6 sounds good.

Lightroom and PSE/PS is all you need.
The pen is just so much easier than using the mouse particularly when selecting something in an image.

I've checked out the Wacom forum regarding the Wacom Intuos4 A5 tablet, lot's of complaints regarding the 'pens' wearing out very quickly. Think I'll wait for a while.

The Intuos3 gets good reports, maybe I can find a 2nd hand one?

I've had the Wacom Graphire4 'Classic' for years (no longer sold). It's an A6 size, ideal for me, never let me down- pen included. Cant imagine life without it!

I guess it works with standard photoshop aswell?
Looks rather neat I must say.
