    Re: Imminent camera upgrade

Thanks for the advice and suggestions, sorry for coming back late to this.

I’ve always had 1.6 cropped sensors and I’m comfortable with them, I have the ultra wide lens to compensate at the wide end. Both the cropped sensor and FF present the photographer with the same 3:2 rectangle when they look through the viewfinder. The challenge is the exactly the same fill that rectangle with something “interesting” and make sure it’s pleasantly exposed.

Looking at images from my 30D and 40D, provided the pictures are OK for composition, content, and exposure, it’s quite hard to tell the difference. The reason I look to sell my 30D is that it lacks some features I use. Like the focus lock via back AF button and the 3 presets C1-3. I have the focus lock assigned the * exposure lock button on my 30D but it has downsides.
I have a petty issue with the 30D, I don’t like the sound of the shutter it’s a bit loud compared to the 40D. The other thing is that I want to sell it whilst it still has some resale value.

I have tried the 7D and 5D2, I will wait to try a 60D then decide.
