Photos didn't save

I was using my 90D today and shooting multiple shots. I took 3 series of about 4 shots but only one series recorded to the card. I've tried it since and it seems to be working. Any thoughts?

I've never had that experience.....are there multiple folders defined on the card whereby a series may be recorded to a different folder perhaps?

Thanks. I think I've solved it as a couple of days later a bit broke off the SD card so I'm guessing it was dodgy connections.
