Microphone for EOS R help please

I'm looking for a cost effective microphone for use with the R.

The Canon manual recommends the Canon DM-E1 but it quite expensive.....and although its probably really good its probably better than I need (just want to record my acoustic guitar) ....I don't know anything about microphones and compatibility....except that the R has 3.5mm socket.....can anyone advise please?

I have a Rode which is excellent, but very directional so I also bought a Tascam which is less directional. Haven't had the chance to use it yet, but the reviews were good.

Rode's are OK and much cheaper that Canon. I use Rode mics on camcorders - shotgun.
