    R6 and RF600mm F11.....day 2 at Trentham Lake.

These are from my first outing with this new gear....to say I'm pleased is an understatement...especially for a telephoto novice.
Unfortunately nothing flew overhead that I could capture....just a gull that the camera tracked (on its eye) but I was at 1/320 so lots of motion blur.
The focussing latched onto the head of every bird I tried and then onto the eye at the first opportunity......I've seen it done on youtube reviews and it really does work well.

first shot straight out of camera (SOOC)...no processing at all 1/800 ISO1250

    ISO1250 1/800.....approx 30% crop....shadows lifted only

Added some contrast to eye and beak...full frame ISO1600 and 1/800

ISO12800 1/1600 sec (not sure why I set that so fast)

Approx 40% crop and otherwise SOOC ISO500 1/800

    ISO1600 1/640 50% crop SOOC (Coots I think)

    ISO640 1/320 80% crop SOOC

Look very interesting. Noise seems very well controlled.

Good pics Brian, concur with Trev’s comment; a nice set of pics showing what that combination can do. Excellent high ISO performance.

Thanks All...But can you advise what settings to use for wildlife...I was using manual mode....with Auto ISO....but couldn’t easily add exposure compensation....what would you recommend.....shutter priority?

Nice ones Brian, 2 years ago i had a afternoon with Ron Bielefeld of Whistling Wings Photography photographing Snail Kites in flight in Florida, he has just switched to the Canon R5 and all the RF lenses and has some great setup videos on Youtube, I watched his video on setting up the R5 and followed step by step then saved the settings to C1, only had one trip out with not very good light but really impressed with the Camera
