    Studio Strobe Connection Port

A friend who just purchased EOS R5 wants to connect the sync cable of an old Studio Strobe to his camera but he can find no connection port as was the case with his old EOS 5D MK IV. He asked me for advice but I could not help. Am I missing the sync port or did Canon decide to do away with such in mirrorless models?

The EOS R5 has a PC flash terminal under one of the covers on the side of the camera. The EOS R6 does not have a flash terminal.

Be wary of connecting a studio strobe via the hotshoe - some of these units have a high trigger voltage which can damage the electronics of the camera. As far as I know, the PC terminal on the EOS R5 avoids this problem - but I would still be cautious of connecting older studio strobes. I use the wireless Pocket Wizard in these circumstances (https://pocketwizard.com/).
