R6 ii stabilisation release shutter without lens

I have just acquired an R6 mk ii, and I'm ploughing through the manual.
In the stabilisation section it states that 'release shutter without lens' needs to be set to enable for stabilisation to work. Is this the right way round, since the default on purchase was disable?

Also is there any published information of the 'likely' stabilisation benefit for a combination of the camera with a given lens? I know that the number of IS stops gained varies with all kinds of factors including focal length. I am particularly interested in EF lenses, of which I have several.

Derek - I think that the proviso regarding "release shutter without lens" is in the section dealing with stabilisation of lenses which do not communicate with the camera (in which case it make sense).

      Hi John
Many thanks for clarification. I should have noticed that!! I assume that for a lens with communication it doesn't make any difference which way it is set.
