    Hello Reg and welcome.

The 7D is one of the best wildlife cameras and the 100 - 400mm was my main wildlife lens, until I changed to prime lenses for wildlife. I look forward to seeing some of your work.

Hello Reg and welcome to the forum.
Based on this thread title are you considering the EF-S 18-135mm lens?
The MTF (resolution) figures for that lens is quite good although I have no personal experience of the lens.
If looking to fill the gap between your Sigma ultra-wide lens and the Canon 100-400mmL lens then also consider the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS, a cracking and proven lens.

Hi Stephen. Thank you for your reply and yes I'm thinkiing of the gap. My ownly concern is, the body is not very strong, thats what I've been told.

            Good morning Elaine

The build of the EF-S 18-135mm lens is better than the cheap lenses and although it is plastic it is decent and has a metal mount.
Why not try one from your local store first.

My wife uses the old 18-135, and it's not bad. The new 18-135 STM is supposed to be really good - photozone.de rate it similarly to the 15-85, which is a very decent lens IMHO.
Please don't ask about my kit, it's embarrassing!

I've not had anyone yet come back to me yet that has any photos taken with this lens. I'm very grateful for your information.
Ithink it's a go and try one.
