I am in two minds about getting the Sigma lens as I am quite attached to the Canon L brand. The only reason I am considering the Sigma is for the extra reach of 100mm against my present 70-300mm lens. I usually use a Kenko 1.4Tc with my Canon lens which in effect gives me 672mm reach with my crop 760D camera. I am wondering whether I could get away with my Canon by buying a 2X convertor (Kenko) which I am told will auto focus in good light. This will give me a reach of 960mm.
The other advantage of the Canon L lens is that it holds it's value much better than other third party lenses. It also produces very sharp images as members can see from my bird photos- despite using a 1.4 TC.
I will appreciate members comments on this so that I can make up my mind.
Many thanks
Nathaniel
