When using film I had a bag full of prime lenses, but when bought a 60D I found I wanted to fill the frame more, in order to use every last pixel. Now that the pixel count in cameras is climbing, I find I am heading back to primes – sometimes cropping the image in post processing. I also find primes able to resolve better, esp. on a full frame body. It's hard to explain, but I get more enjoyment photographing with a prime lens too...
