    Tilt and shift

I’m thinking about getting myself a Tilt and shift macro lense, thought it might be interesting to play with for macro pics and architecture, don’t to portraits much but it can be used for that as well.

I’d be interested to hear from anyone who has or used one before I splash out.

    Thanks

    Ian

I can understand your fascination with a T and S lens, as it is a lens I have wanted for many years. However, the only other lens I bought because I wanted it, rather than needed it, was a full frame fisheye zoom 8-15mm F4 L. I have only used it four times, so I am reluctant to repeat that mistake .................... but I still "want" a T and S lens!

I got one, well its not mine but one that I can use for Vertical Assaults, but never use it, don't like the thing. Takes to long to set up by which time the action is at the bottom or at the top

If you're thinking of a TSE lens (or adaptor to use a MF lens as T/S) I can highly recommend articles by Keith at Northlight, who has a high degree of experience.
            Examples:
Tilt and Shift lenses. The Canon TS-E 24mm lens review and discussion. What do tilt/shift lenses do and why they are useful

Optimal focusing techniques when you are using a tilt/shift lens on a camera. Using lens tilt with lenses directly attached and via an adapter.

Thank you very much everyone for your input and comment, they are much appreciated. The links to the articles are especially useful and I’ll take a while to review them before I make a decision.

Just taken the plunge and have now got myself a 90mm TS-E so I’ll let you know how I get on. One item of interest is that the 1.4 extender works perfectly despite not being officially supported.
