Canon ef 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM and live view

Hello,

I am hoping that someone can help me with a query regarding a Canon ef 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM and live view.

When I use the lens and it focuses I can see the confirmation of focus lock through the viewfinder but not on the screen when using live view.

Has anyone else used the lens in live view with a 40D who can help me?

I can’t remember ever using live view when I had this lens...can’t see why it should be different to any other lens.

Can’t help on the 40D Mark, I have the MKII version and that works in live view on my 80D ok. It might be a firmware issue with the camera, have you looked to see if an update is available?
