R6 and an old dust pump

While my RF 600mm is a great lens, it’d long minimum focus distance and being a prime can be a bit if a handicap. So I picked up a used version of the original EF 100-400mm L lenses, aka the dust pump. It’s a bit on the old side and the zoom adjustment needs a bit of work but optically it’s quite pleasant so I seem to have got a good one. Using an RF adaptor it works well enough with my R6 with the only drawbacks being that AF is a touch slower and the top frame rate drops from 12fps to, I believe, 6.8, with the two likely linked.

Having said that, the only real downside is it’s a heavy lens. I reckon it weighs more than my R6 and RF 600mm combined which means using is giving my newly recovered shoulder (rotator cuff injury) a bit of a workout…

Thanks everyone. It’s built like a tank but the fact it took so long for Canon to replace it speaks to the quality…
