Nice choice, love mine. Use it on the R6 w/1.4 converter

Been using one for years, even on my movie camera, I might be tempted for a mark ii version for my C100 rig as you can get a focus wheel to zoom in and out, not possible with the mark i.

Slightly belatedly I'll add that I love mine - it's sharp wide open and focuses quickly. However one other feature is it quite good for macro work as is and if you add an extender it's very good. The Working Distance (from front of lens to subject at closest focusing - the Minimum Focusing Distance people specify is from the sensor) is large and so you can shoot stuff without having to get close and either missing it or scaring it away. The attached isn't full-size but shrunk for the forum...

It’s the first lens I got when I changed to canon with the 5DIII, It’s excellent, probably my most used!

I fully agree with Bo - it's a great lens.

Yes, it’s a lovely lens, whether you’ve got a FF or crop camera in front of it.
INMHO the mark ll was a big improvement on the mk l - quicker to focus in and sharp as a knife .
I sold mine to fund the RF 100-500L for my R6.
If you are going mirrorless then I’d save my money and stretch to the RFLens but if you’re into your EF lenses then it’s a beast

    EF 100-400 Lens

Has anyone got the EF 100-400MM F/4.5-5.6L IS II USM?

Is it any good? Worth the money?

I mainly do steam train photos but I now enjoy going to my local Zoo and I am thinking of buying this lens.

Any advice will be great, thank you.
