. The EF 75-300 I also let him have (he's a bird enthusiast) works fine so it seemed like the lens at fault which I confirmed by attaching it to my 7D. Annoying for me and disappointing for him but I'll source a replacement.
It's hardly been used but does seem quite flimsy so are they prone to failure?
