    Scanner focus

I have bought a used Canoscan 9000F MKII for scanning 120 negs and slides and 35mm negs and slides it scans and works ok but I cannot understand why all the negs of 120 or 35mm seem to be out of focus but all the slides are fine. Is there some setting I have missed?

It's been a while since I played with one of these, but:

Do you have the correct inserts for 35mm film, slides and 120 film?
Have you removed the white reflector from the lid to reveal the film scan light source?

If you have the above and downloaded the latest drivers, all should be well.

The link is to the onscreen user manual. See page 23 which shows the method of placement of film/slides.

Yes have all the correct trays for 35 120 slides and negs and the white reflected cover is out and they are in the right way it just seems strange that one type scans in focus,
