    Lightroom Problem

3 photos out of a batch I imported from laptop to Lightroom came out like this, to varying degrees. Tried to re-import, but each thumbnail has "Preview unavailable for this file".
Has anyone come across this , please? They loaded fine from card to laptop. The files are just tests shots with a new lens.

What version of Lightroom and what was the camera?

OK so it isn’t a problem with an unsupported camera then. When you say the images loaded from the card to laptop ok are they jpg or raw files?
I’m confused about the workflow you’ve used. It seems you don’t import direct to Lightroom.
my suggestion is rather than trying to reimport the images, assuming that the folder you used for the original import is in your Lightroom catalog, try to synchronise that folder. To do so in the library module right click the folder and choose “synchronise” the folder.
The only other thing is to see if the images are ok when viewed from the card in the camera

I download card to laptop hard drive. Then import to LR. Raw files. The duff LR ones are fine on the laptop. There was a notification on uploading to LR that a few were not acceptable. Turned out that it was 3 of them. Will try the synch thing later, It coincided with my laptop going a bit weird and losing my D drive for a while, so it could be a laptop issue. Thanks for responding.

I've viewed this as a one off error as I had a problem with the laptop around the same time. Will keep it under review though and post up if it recurs.
