Simultaneous display of tumbnails and tool palette

    Hello everyone,
I have been using DPP for a long time but there is one thing I'd like to change on the screen: I'd like the tool palette not to overlie on thumbnails. In fact, I'd like to limit the width of the thumbnail field in the horizontal sense, (on the right) to allow simultaneous display of the tool palette and ALL the thumbnails. Is this possible? Thanks in advance.

Just decrease the size of your display from the right - pull it to the left. The Tool Palette will then not overlie any thumbnails you have displayed -- if that makes sense

Thank you for your response Trev. I tried your suggestion but I could find a "handle" to change the size of this thumbnail field only on the left side. There is no such handle (five dots) on the right. Could I have done something wrong?

Vasilis - just to the left of the Tool palette title at the very top of the palette is a group of dots.

Right click on those dots and you get a drop-down menu which give you a "Dock/float" option

Click this and the screen toggles between the palette floating (which is what you do not want) and being parked at the RHS of the screen (which is what you do want)

I did all this, John, and tried to push the edge of the image field to the left but found no handle to do it with... Yours seems under full control, but mine is missing something or I am doing something stupid! I see no way of reducing the thumbnail field size, or pushing the RHS edge to the left! Hopeless!!!

Vasilis. I've just carried out Johns instructions and it worked for me.

Vasilis - your screen shot looks to me to be showing the tool palette in the "float" mode.

What happens if you click the float/dock selection again? - it is a toggle, so alternates between the two modes each time you click it.

When it docks, it automatically adjusts the thumbnail pane to sit to the left of the tool palette - you don't have to drag the edge to achieve this.

OK John and Trev. I just tried the "four-dot" trick and it worked. Sincere thanks to both of you.
