Digital Slide Show
Back in the day I used to put on slide shows to camera clubs etc. using a slide projector. I haven't done a slide show for several years but a friend has approached me to do a presentation and I thought I may have a go at putting on a digital show. I would appreciate any help on how to go about it. Any advice on equipment required etc. would be greatly appreciated. I only use Lightroom and assume this will be adequate.
Thanks in advance for any help.Last edited by Brian Sugden; 20-03-2017, 15:17.Tags: None

Re: Digital Slide Show
I think you need to explain exactly what you want to do.
If it is just to show some photos and talk about them a laptop and digital projector and then the normal photoviewer programme on the laptop is all you need.
There are other alternatives such as Powerpoint or use the Lightroom create website and many many more.

Re: Digital Slide Show
You haven't said if you're an Apple man or a Microsoft one Brian. I always use Keynote for my presentations. The options both for preparation and actual presentation are excellent. I use an iPad mini connected to a digital projector for delivery and either control directly on the iPad or remotely via an iPhone. Only cautions are to disable screen lock and ensure fully charged battery.
Of course, if you're not an Apple man ... then ignore.

Re: Digital Slide Show
Dee and I have done a few presentations at camera club, the last a couple of months ago. We have used Powerpoint but found that whilst it is good for text and drawings etc, it is not really a good tool for photographic presentations, seeming to degrade our images. The main one we now use is Pictures2exe, which has a good variety of transitions and can include music if you so wish. It can be used as a continuous slideshow or you can set it up to control each slide with the mouse.

Re: Digital Slide Show
You can create lovely slideshows in Lightroom - no other software needed. You can even output them as MPEGs for video if you prefer. Dead easy.
As for Powerpoint - it works fine so long as you know the resolution of the computer and the projector match up appropriately!
Good luck
