    Dungeness Split Toning

    There was a tutorial in one of the current mags so though I would try it out on one of the Dungeness fishing boats

    Work or not ?

    Re: Dungeness Split Toning

    Well that's a good question and my immediate answer was "I'm not sure"

    Good subject, composition, etc etc but the more I look at it the more I find that like your boat I'm tilted to one side- and the side is No rather than Yes

    I could be in the minority......

      Re: Dungeness Split Toning

      Hi Stan; I hesitate to say 'no' in this case... I feel that the whole needs toning down, specially the highlights top right. I think a 'moodier' look would suit the toning better...
      Cheers;
      Lee

        Interesting processing Stan. As Lee has mentioned it does look a little 'hot' in the top right corner; may be worth dealing with that?

          thanks guys

          I wasn't totally sure about this myself, more an exercise in using the tutorial.

          It is based on the shot originally processed in colour and in that the top corner highlights are not really overdone so down to the split toning effect

            As others have said, it does work aside from the inbalance in the sky from the left side to the right side. Composition i like.
