    Hooded - Jackdaw ?

I have always got Hooded Crows and Jackdaws mixed up but finally having got a picture of each I shouldn't make mistakes again.

There's something very frustrating, to me at least, about photographing insects and that is the massive crops I have to do not having a macro lens. However now and then I get one or two that are sort...

Re: Getting the blues on a dull day

    Thanks for that.

It did come up rather flat when I uploaded it. Didn't look that flat originally when I had finished processing, may be something to do with the ambient light in the room while...

Getting the blues on a dull day

Took a turn round the north of the island hoping for something worth photographing. Strong winds meant I couldn't stand still let alone hold the camera steady unless I was hunkered down behind the...

Did you buy from a Canon dealer or other reliable source?

The processing works well for me though the composition leaves me a bit confused as to what is the main focus of the picture.

There are three things that draw the eye, the people in the...

Red Deer with eye for the hills

In Glen Etive there is a rather tame Red Deer stag who now has quite a harem all of which seem to be very tolerant of people. I am always a bit wary of stags at this time of year, even the tame ones....

Red Deer Stag at high ISO

It was a very dull, wet day and late afternoon when I was by Loch Arkaig and the deer were close to the road. In two minds about bothering with a shot or two.

Set the 6D to auto ISO and fitted the...

So many great pictures of birds to look at while the weather has been too overcast and wet in the last few weeks to take anything.

Some garden shots at last in a few breaks in the gloom.

Re: Swallow hard at the top of a ladder

    Thanks for commenting.

I was surprised how unconcerned the birds were with my proximity while I was working and then taking pictures.

Swallow hard at the top of a ladder

I was clearing the gutters on the house and the swallows were feeding the young on the roof. So I had to get a shot - not easy climbing a ladder with a camera in hand.

    Oh Deer, the wrong combo.

I was up in the northwest highlands recently and took a walk by Loch Druim Suardalain in Glen Canisp. A dull day and I couldn't decide what combo to take with me. Settled for the 6D and 24-105 and...

Last year I went to a medieval jousting event at Carisbrooke Castle on the Isle of Wight and there was some falconry.

    Red Deer

Yesterday was overcast and dull but I decided to venture down to Sleat and drive the loop road through Tarskavaig.
Didn't expect to get the camera out very often.

Well a bit of a surprise soon...
