    Re: Long Exposure Angel

Well, I like this image a lot. Yes, a tad more either side may have been good, but nice one Brian.

Something about this makes me think of Tellytubbies, but perhaps I should keep that thought to...

    Re: Royal Daffodil

I've just checked the original (colour) jpg. The halo is there right from the start, possibly due to my ageing 'economy' lens.

I rather suspect that the halo has not taken kindly to processing.

    Thanks everyone for your comments.

Let's hope that she gets the refit that she deserves. I look forward to seeing her in Canning Dock, maybe next year.

Chris: I'm sorry but we're going to have to disagree. In my opinion the overcast sky makes a huge contribution to the mood of this shot, influencing the foreground reflection and allowing the...

    Re: Liverpool's Three Graces (rooftops)

    Hi Stan,

The Helios 135mm is a prime lens, so no option to frame wider, and not able to move further back due to a watery reception awaiting me in the form of the Albert dock.

    The Three Graces...

Re: Flicker makes my b/w pics look muddy

Hi Tom, many thanks for the info.

Actually I think that I may have cracked the problem.

While pondering about compression and all that goes with it, I wondered if the grayscale image's lack of...
