  1. Battery powered location strobe recommendations?

Iím looking to buy a battery powered strobe for location use.

500 or 600 watt should do the trick.

Iím thinking possibly the Bowens XMT500 or the Godox AD600 as I have a load of Bowens studio...
  2. Re: Printer recommendations, up to A4 on a budget

Thanks guys. ip7250 is cheap so can afford the risk, but carts prices put me off. At the silly end of the scale the Mitsubishi CP-D70DW dye-sub printer looks awesome, but at £695 plus vat I'd have to...
  3. Re: Printer recommendations, up to A4 on a budget

Ok, I know I said about budget, but, for a moment, if I scrap the budget element and go for non-ink, what should I be looking at in a more professional, robust printer that uses some other...
  4. Printer recommendations, up to A4 on a budget

Looking for printer recommendations for printing out photo quality images up to A4. Most will be 5x7, 6x4, 5x5 and 10x8 (or A4).

I don't have tons of money to spend, thinking £300 maximum.

  5. Which make/model radio trigger/reciever for 5D MK3 with older Bowens GM500 strobes?

Just bought some Bowens GM500 strobe heads that are non-radio, but have a sync socket on the back.

To be used with Canon EOS 5D MK3.

From what I can gather the GM500 heads have a cell built in...
  6. Re: EOS 5D MK3 underexposing by 1 or 2 stops - anybody else finding this?

I agree, Alan. Will put up with it and work with Sekonic meter in the meantime as that is acurate.
  7. Re: EOS 5D MK3 underexposing by 1 or 2 stops - anybody else finding this?

Ok, final update on this. Yes, I use the black rubber eye cover on tripod.

Anyway, I bought an 18% grey card and stuck it on my wall and put camera on tripod, filled frame, put rubber eye cup...
  8. Re: EOS 5D MK3 underexposing by 1 or 2 stops - anybody else finding this?

Ok, more information. Putting it on your tripod and pointing it at a neutral reference scene I put camera in AV mode and set aperture to f8 and noted the shutter speed suggested when half-pressing...
  9. Re: EOS 5D MK3 underexposing by 1 or 2 stops - anybody else finding this?

Just checked Live View with 'exposure preview' and it looks a stop under exposed there too.
  10. Re: EOS 5D MK3 underexposing by 1 or 2 stops - anybody else finding this?

Thanks brainvickers. Yes, checked their is no exposure-compensation set. Two different lenses, 24-70 f2.8 L and 70-200 f2.8 L. I suppose if the aperture was failing to close down it would be...
  11. EOS 5D MK3 underexposing by 1 or 2 stops - anybody else finding this?

Had a Canon EOS 5D MK3 for a few months now, bought it used with really low shutter count (8K) but I'm finding about half the time the camera underexposes between 1 and 2 stops, regardless of the...
