    Re: Copywrite

    There's a good guide here: https://uk.practicallaw.thomsonreuters.com/w-003-6889?transitionType=Default&contextData=(sc.Default)&firstPage=true&comp=pluk&bhcp=1

Specifically, as I understand it as...

    Re: Hi from Banbury, Oxfordshire

Tigers fans are always welcome. ;)

Your 55-250 should certainly be reasonably quick. If it has enough reach, you might be better off using the centre point only, or even pre-focusing manually for...

    Re: Sigma Tele-lens

Set the aperture and trigger DOF preview, and then kill the power, I think, Nigel.

Re: Sharpness of EF24-105 vs 100-400II

It's not the very sharpest, no. Worst at 24mm at the edges, where there's also a fair bit of distortion. But it's certainly far from terrible, too. 24-70 f4 and f2.8 II are both better, FWIW.

Re: What is wrong with this site???

No thank you, Robert. I've been a mod on another site for many years, and it used to keep several of us very busy almost full time just trying to keep up with the spam, some of it very dangerous,...

Re: Are we being left behind?

Canon has stated that DSLRs aren't going away for the foreseeable future. And you can be sure they would like to keep selling cameras to you.
I suspect there will be some rationalisation in the DSLR...

Re: SEO on its lookout tree

I was wondering what Search Engine Optimisation was doing on a tree, and I'm very glad I looked to see. Really lovely shot.

    Re: Canon 72 ink

I use Premier Inks - currently they have 72 inks at 99.99 for a set of 10, 4 in stock, according to their site.
They're fairly local to me, and they're nice people to deal with when I've been in...

Re: Generic extension tubes killed my 20D

    No, there isn't.

Just try searching for it on the internet - not one case of such a thing happening. Not one.

You could get an ERR99 message from lack of communication, but a problem definitely...

Re: Generic extension tubes killed my 20D

Best will in the world, there's nothing the tubes could have done to damage your camera; it's simply coincidence that the first problems occurred when you used them. If it was the tubes, all problems...

Re: Canon EOS 5D MkIV User Review

I had gone 5D - 5D II - 6D, as the 6D suited me better than the 5D III - didn't like the feel of it, and the low light performance of the 6D was better, but I returned to the fold with the 5D IV....

    Re: 100mm 2.8 L Lens

Use it for whatever you like, so long as you want sharp results. It performs well at distance as well as close up.

Re: Canon to 'Pause' Development of EF lenses

I have a different issue - a balance disorder that is under control for everything except most EVFs. The disorder came about due to damage to my inner ear, which left my brain unable to cope with...

Superb, but then it is one of the finest lenses in the world to start with, so better capable than most of dealing with stacked extenders.

    Great capture.

  17. Re: Aperture numbers change if using a crop sensor?

Thing is that in terms of number of photons, they're correct - but exposure doesn't care about the absolute number of photons, but the number of photons per unit area - which (assuming uniform...
  18. Re: Aperture numbers change if using a crop sensor?

In the sense of exposure, no. In the sense of depth of field, yes.

Re: Adobe Photography Plan at 9.98 Monthly

2 machines at any one time, and you can change them if you replace either bit of kit. You can even replace temporarily, and then go back to your previous machine.

    Re: Old style DSLRs

Couldn't agree more. I have loads of old film cameras (they were very cheap not all that long ago!), and thoroughly enjoy using them, but I've got my DSLRs set up to work how I want them to and they...

    Re: Old style DSLRs

As it happens, Leica have released the M10-D today which hasn't even got a rear screen - not a DSLR, of course, it's a rangefinder. And if you want to review the images in advance, it has WiFi to...
