    Confumbled juvenile Greenfinch

This youngster had just flown into the kitchen window, bounced off and landed on the path below.

    Re: Double Header

That's good Alex - for once I prefer the colour version to the B&W - it makes the wave from the cab stand out more!

No more after these three - I promise.

    Liberator - the mid-gunner's view

The Liberator has several gun positions and the one in the waist of the aircraft has a nice big window on each side.

You will note the proximity of the tail fin - gunners who managed to hit these...

Re: A new "wide boy" in town!

Thanks Chris - I am hoping to give it a work-out on a forthcoming trip to a couple of transport museums, where space tends to be tight and items tend to be large!

A new "wide boy" in town!

    Got two things done yesterday:-

mowing the orchard before the threatened thunderstorms and

putting my new 16-35 f4L onto the camera

  9. Re: Africa Geographic photographic winner disqualified

It is a shame that anyone feels that they have to stoop to such deception.

However, the fascinating thing is the number of people making comments that the image has merely been "flipped" -...

    Re: Norwegian Fjords

These are all great Alex, although I think I have a preference for the Briksdal glacier and the chevrons.

I like the way the sun has brought up the colour of the rock faces on the RHS and makes the dishes stand out against the sky.

Is it just me, or is there a narrow vertical line of brightness on the...

    Re: Found by the wayside

Perhaps it's the "Weed" that you constantly hear mentioned in San Francisco - there are even billboards advertising on-line purchasing of it - "Click, click, puff" was the tagline.

    Re: A Streak to Paignton...

Seeing your name and that title, you had me worried - but all is well thank goodness.

A nice image John - I wanted to catch it when it passed us, but I could not find any transit times.

    Re: Shropshire Hills

Into my heart an air that kills
    From yon far country blows:
    What are those blue-remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?

It is the land of lost content,
    I see it shining plain,...
