    Re: Pics of the 100-400mm

This new lens has been rumoured for 2 years and is now a reality. I used the old lens for a while, found it very good optically but a bit slow and cumbersome in use. A new version is welcome. Just a...

    List of desirable FD lenses

Here's my list based on what is widely available (sometimes at a cost) online or in dealers:

    20mm f2.8
    17 mm f4 (a superb lens - never bettered)
    24 mm f2.8
    28mm f2.0
    35mm f2.0 (the breechlock...

    Re: Enjoying film

Yes, and though B&W film is still quite cheap, slide film has rocketed in price and plunged in availability. It is really just Mailshots and Photouk.co.uk that sell it now. Fujilab is closing for E6...

    Enjoying film

Have been enjoying buying up some FD kit on eBay and a nice F1n body from USA, etc.
Got back some Fuji Velvia RVP and Provia 400x from the E6 lab - fantastic - real dynamic range, shadow detail and...

    Re: Canon T-90

The Fuji Processing Lab in Leeds (actually a private company for the last 7 years, running the contract for Fuji) can still process E6 for 7. The sister company PhotoUK sells film. Fuji are...

    Re: Canon T-90

Yes, I hammered two T-90s until the HELP 'EEEE' came up, I remember it well. This one seems good so far...

    I have recently bought a 70-210, 28mm and 50mm for less than 80.

    I even have some...

    Canon T-90

Just bought a lovely T-90 body online, functioning perfectly and no scratches or damage. Looking forward to trying it and bringing back memories of 20 years ago - it's just a bit more difficult to...

    New section

Robert has set up this new section - I great idea, especially as I have being buying up some FD kit recently to revisit my youth, so to speak.

Re: Travel lens for Canon 6D

I'd be tempted to take 2 lenses rather than one superzoom. I have the 6D - I'd be tempted to take the 24-105L and another 70-300 lens - one of the light weight Sigma APO lenses might work if you...

Re: Should I buy EOS film camera?

    Hi Kelly
I also still enjoy film and have a EOS 3 (I have also been buying some FD stuff like the T90 and A1 on eBay and some FD lenses). I don't think that Canon CPS support it any more but I am...

Here's one of my first shots today when I went for a walk along the Thames. ISO 'L' @ f2.8. Ideal with 6D. Very happy with IQ. Focussing no great shakes but I am not going to use this lens for...

EF 40mm f2.8 STM pancake lens

Have pretty much convinced myself to buy this lens this weekend, as it looks like a win-win situation. Any last minute views / reviews?

    Thanks in advance

    Re: 600EX-RT which rechargeable batteries?

With my 600EX I use a selection of high capacity 3rd generation NMHI batteries. I have some 2200 mAh ones from 7 Day Shop but probably the best are the Energisers, which fit well and give good...

    Re: Canon EOS 70D review

Lee, great. It does come down to the glass you have too. If you have lots of EF-S fit lenses, then the 70D makes sense for its compactness and lightness compared to FF models. If on the other hand...

    Re: Canon EOS 70D review

Thanks for the kind comments, all. Russell, in answer to your question, I would say if you don't want full farme, save yourself some money and get the 70D. The 6D has the edge in having GPS built in...

    Re: Looking for a 24-105L

Tokina is not that bad but I think they had their heyday in the 80's and 90's. Irrespective of optical quality, their re-sale value is always going to be depressingly low.
