Re: Jessops going into receivership again

I've always had good service at LCE. Knowledgable staff and prices that are decent compared to online. Sometime their stock is a bit short but in terms of service, generally good.

    Re: New work laptop

Sadly Apple seem to have jumped the shark when it comes to laptops - the worst part being the keyboard which is horrible. Definitely look at gaming laptops if you want a decent graphics card though...

    Re: LR 6 Classic w/Mojave

There are big problems with older Adobe products - Catalina removes 32 bit support and Adobe aren't shipping 64 bit code for their older versions. In some cases the product is 64 but but the...

    Re: I Mac RAM upgrade - 2

Crucial have an application you can download that checks your system and tells you exactly what is appropriate for your hardware. It’s very helpful...
  5. Re: One from SteamPunk yesterday at the Great Central Railway.

Everyone's a critic I suppose. I didn't mean to cause offence, just offered an opinion and yes, the look of the second two shots have more of a steam punk feel about them.
  6. Re: One from SteamPunk yesterday at the Great Central Railway.

Its a nice shot but to me it doesn't have much of a steam punk look about it. perhaps the spider jewellery is the one thing...

Very nice. Even better that there are no people in the shots.

    Re: Train to Southampton

Tom, if it helps there is a route to Southampton here: https://goo.gl/maps/q4XrcJAkKnrmm7g88

It's basically the Underground (Piccadilly line, then Jubilee Line) to Waterloo followed by the...
  9. Re: Can anyone advise me on a camera bag?

I don't have any specific backpack recommendations but Tenba may be worth a look at. They do a decent range and are very good quality - I've been using one of their DNA bags for a couple of years now...

Re: What passes for art today.

I like the contrast of old and new and the way the edge of the sculpture aligns with the edge of the building.

If it were me I would probably clone out the croquet hoop and seat at the far edge of...

    Re: lens camera combo

Just a minor point of order, the 7D Mk II has two DIGIC 6 processors.

    Re: Bought an R

Nice. The histogram in the viewfinder is a really nice way to keep exposure under control isn’t it. The price of the 50 f1.2 just made me flinch though

Re: Is there a 90D in the horizon?

Hmm, the one thing my wife missed when she went from the 7D to 80D was the AF point joystick. I definitely feel an upgrade coming on...

    Re: Is this forum dying?

Different people make different choices. I’ve even put an app on my iPhone to shoot raw (dng) and never make a shot available that hasn’t been through LightRoom at least. I know most cameras now have...

    Re: Canon WiFi vulnerabilities

I mentioned to my wife this week how infrequently Canon produce firmware updates and three days later up pops this to make me a liar. It’s a bit meh though isn’t it. She doesn’t use WiFi on her 80D...

    Re: EOS 250D

Indeed. Surely it’s better to sell a camera to someone that will then use it with a third party flash rather than not sell it at all?

Re: Canon EOS 5D MkIV User Review

I would say the Z7 AF is going to be behind that of the D850 purely because the D850 is way better than most cameras out there - Thom Hogan describes it as the best all-round DSLR you can buy at...

Me too Tom. I’ve not sold anything down that route and this makes me less likely to consider it.
