Re: 90D/M6 mkII - lot and lots of info

The M6-II shutter only goes to 1/4000th though, also both the optional (extra cost) viewfinders (EVF-DC1, EVF-DC2) are 2.3MP.
The R is 1/8000th and 3.69M dots (and as someone who owns a camera with...

90D/M6 mkII - lot and lots of info

Note there are leaks all over the place for these.

    Re: Canon WiFi vulnerabilities

So there's 30 cameras on the list and your wife has the only one that has a patch... now that's lucky!

    Canon WiFi vulnerabilities

It looks like for most cameras it's more of a statement of intent to produce new firmware than having much available. Although unless you walk around with WiFi enabled I struggle to see much risk....

    Re: 100mm 2.8 L Lens

Slightly belatedly I'll add that I also really like it for portrait and general non-macro use as it's sharp, has very low distortion, is decently fast, has a good stabiliser and the bokeh is good...

Plus if you want to see what it looks like inside go to the lensrentals blog (it won't let me post the link) or search for:

  11. Re: Looking for a decent small lightweight camera to supplement my 80D

Can't argue with that, especially as if I stray off Canon products I'll get in trouble (although a m43 12-60 f2.8-4 would ... nah, forget it...)

    Re: Nikon D850's Raw 95ΜΒ?

Nikon has an uncompressed Raw mode. Makes for big files. I find the 5Dsr Raws (which are compressed) average about 67MB (plus 9MB for a large/medium JPEG). If the detail is poorly compressible the...

Or is the wider crop better? I think it is.
  16. Nobody seems to have told the Flowers and the Bees that Summer's over...

Had Four goes at a crop and ended up with this, what do you think? I literally cropped the SooC JPEG as I liked it so much, then scaled it down for the web.

Re: Canon full frame mirrorless camera

It doesn't excite me as a camera (I suspect the A7sIII will be much more interesting) but there's a lot of really clever stuff buried in the R. For example it can apparently do DLO in real time,...

Re: Canon full frame mirrorless camera

I don't think it's purple, I think it's just the out-of-focus blur mixing in some of the blue sky... although I might be wrong of course.

While I'm at it I wasn't aware of this either (for shipping lenses, e.g. back for repair) from the same comments section:

  23. Issues with Canon Fluorine coatings on some lenses

I assume you'll need to download the software from them though.
