    Flock of Goldfinches

Since we put some sunflower heart feeders up we’ve been getting an increasing number of gold finch’s into the garden. Half a dozen on the feeders has been seen on a few occasions but this morning I...

    Re: Question.

Better without the wall for me as well, I think it divides the picture and becomes the focus of attention. My preferred composition would be portrait format to emphasise the river if that is what you...

Lovely shots, and definitely much better weather!
  5. Re: EF100-400mm ii, which IS mode on a monopod?

Personally I leave my 100-400 on mode 1 as I hand hold just about all the time, I would use the same setting for a monopod as it is just supporting the weight not providing the stability of a tripod....

    Re: The Blusher (Fungi)

These are interesting fungi to take pictures of and good to see; I do get some mushrooms in the garden but when they come they’re small and in a mass and look horrid!

Really stands out lovely in the sunshine, makes a good contrast. I do hope you had suitable wet weather gear for you and the camera!

    Re: Something not train related...

Like the picture Nigel, very good.

I’ve seen a few of these vans used as catering outlets but not like this one complete with flashing light. Probably one used for historic shows.

    I do hope...

Congratulations on winning Gary and well done to the other podium places. And thanks to Brian for taking the time and trouble to run and judge it.

    Re: Coton Manor Lake.

Thank you for the explanation and apology Ian.

With regard your pic query, I always save both raw and jpeg versions in the camera. It is the raw version that gets edited in LR. The final full size...

I responded to a thread with this title earlier today but now see that there is no trace of the original posting and my reply. I appreciate that the originator of a thread may edit their entry as...

    Re: Challenge 156 Birds

No quick trip to Australia for me to get this pic! Much more local than that.

    Re: Action with the R

    Good pics Brian.

My action pics so far have been limited to birds in the garden and the kite surfers. For the shots of the starlings I took on the bird feeder I used focus tracking with the max...

    Re: Highland Lighthouse

    A good pic Tom.

A similar exercise was carried out on the Belle Tout lighthouse on top of the white cliffs near Eastbourne in East Sussex in 1999, it was moved as a complete structure 56ft inland...

I don’t have an RP but a quick look at the manual shows there is an AF ON button present, so yes it does.

A lovely classic shot of the cathedral, for me the colours appear a little too saturated; but there again it may have just been a bright day!
